Sanctuary Cities - Is it really TRUE?

The Obama Administration spent valuable resources bringing a lawsuit against Arizona legislation. Some may wonder why our U.S. government has never brought a lawsuit against the numerous cities who declare themselves "sanctuary" for illegal immigrants? From random queries, it seems many citizens in the U.S. are unaware what exactly constitutes a "sanctuary city." It is a city that does not follow Federal law. It is a city, like San Francisco or Seattle who declare to the world that they will not only ignore Federal law, but they will refuse to cooporate with U.S. Federal authorities on ANY issues involving illegal aliens (undocumented immigrants). Excerpt from the policy: Officers shall not arrest nor book persons for violation of title 8, section 1325 of the United States Immigration code (Illegal Entry). Some of the 31 American cities are Washington, D.C.; New York City; Los Angeles; Chicago; San Francisco; San Diego; Salt Lake City; Dallas; Houston; Austin; Detroit; Seattle; and many more. These cities have adopted "sanctuary" ordinances banning city employees and police officers from asking people about their immigration status.

This has been going on for many years. And over the years it's been brutally PROVEN detrimental to American citizens in several instances, mainly involving hardened criminals who were not deported or even held in custody for their illegal status. For a list of the MURDERS of innocent AMERICAN CITIZENS that WOULD have been prevented if not for these "sanctuaries," see under Controversial Incidents here:

Recap: The U.S. government spends resources/time on suing Arizona over what MAY happen in the future IF law enforcement officials were to at some point act on their own racial bias. That's a big IF, isn't it? Don't we rely on every law enforcement and government employee, including President Obama, to act without hate or bias?

The Obama Administration has not brought a lawsuit against these "sanctuaries." Granted neither has any other administration, but illegal immigration has never been such a real problem. It has crossed the borderline of tolerance for many people, especially those in border states. And for good reason. Do not be quick to judge folks, and assume racism is behind this. Racism really does not apply here. It simply isn't the case. Illegal immigrants tend to stay around the border of Mexico. This is not an undisputed fact. Do you think over the course of two decades this is not going to dramatically affect those border states? DRAMATICALLY affect.

One might also want to consider, as one ponders these controversial topics(although it cannot be pinpointed as to WHY it should be so "controversial"), what might Mexican President Filipe Calderon say if a large group of American citizens broke through the Mexican border, banded together and declared themselves sovereign on his soil? If they then marched through the streets of Mexico City, demanding MORE than just sovereignty, but benefits to boot. Why did this not come up as a question during his congressional address? Would he still have received a democratic standing ovation if it had? Hm... what would the powerful cartels in Mexico say may be a better question. What say you?
